Deuteronomy Part 1: Four Actions of Faith

Jun 22, 2025    David Hermes

This week, we’re taking a look at Deuteronomy and getting reminded just how faithful God is, no matter what. The main focus is on getting our hearts ready for what God wants to do in our lives—kind of like how Moses helped the Israelites get ready to step into the Promised Land.

We’re challenged to notice how holy and awesome God is, to actually honor and obey Him, and to stay close to Him. One of the biggest takeaways is the Shema from Deuteronomy 6:4-5, which reminds us that God is one and calls us to love Him with everything we’ve got.

This message is about seeing God’s faithfulness, not just where we’ve messed up, but in all the good He’s done in our lives. It encourages us to trust that God’s rules and commands are really for our good—they help us grow and thrive.

So as we face our own “giants” or challenges, we’re called to step out in faith, knowing God’s got us. The same God who’s been there for us in quiet moments is right there in every part of our lives.
