Being With God | Pastor David Hermes

This message takes us on an incredible journey through the Bible, showing how God has always made space to connect with His people. From the very start in Genesis, God created time, space, and matter so He could have a relationship with us. In the Garden of Eden, He literally walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, talk about closeness!

You can trace that same pattern all through Scripture: Noah built the ark as a place of salvation before rain had ever even fallen. The Tabernacle was filled with God’s glory so strongly that Moses couldn’t even step inside. Then came Solomon’s Temple, where the presence of God was so overwhelming that priests tied ropes around their ankles just in case they didn’t make it out alive.

But here’s the twist: it all leads up to something unexpected, a table. Jesus turned the focus from buildings to communion, where He invites us into relationship and reconciliation through His broken body and shed blood.

The real power has never been in the location; it’s in the presence of the One who meets us there. Whether it’s in a cathedral or a living room, a cave or a prison cell, God shows up wherever His people gather.

And now, He’s made us the sacred spaces. We carry His presence into every room we walk into, changing the atmosphere just by staying close to Him.
